We went to the Space Needle and watched Seattle in all its glory. Now, this is actually a good story, so bear with me: We went all the way to the top of the observation tower, only to be surrounded by clouds. At this point, I had two options: I could tell the kids that we were unlucky, and that next time we were going to be in Seattle, we were going to go up later in the day, when the clouds disappear and we could actually see something. Instead, I bought a bag of M&Ms in the cafe, got us all a table, and said, "Isn't this great? When we go back to Baltimore, we'll be able to tell everyone we ate M&Ms INSIDE A CLOUD!" And now, whenever anyone asks them how their trip to Seattle was, the first thing they say is, "We ate M&Ms in a cloud!" |
Looks like a fun trip!
ReplyDeleteIt was. And we continued from there to Portland for a day. I'll write about that one too one day...
DeleteLove that cloud story. Too bad we couldn't meet up. Hope to see you back here again soon though Oren. Seattle is a great place but, yes, expensive.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is there pretty much every other week, so there's a good chance I'll be there again. This time I'll give you a heads-up of at least 24 hours.
DeleteWhat a bummer to pay all that money for CLOUDS! Leave it to an awesome Dad to put a fun spin on it. :) (No pun intended).
ReplyDeleteThanks! Seattle was fun, and we only had a little bit of rain for one afternoon. We'll be there again soon-ish, probably, and I'll make sure there's not one cloud in the sky. (Might have to wait until next July for that, though.)
DeleteLet James and I know when you'll be around. I live about 20 blocks from the zoo.
ReplyDeleteMy Seattle days are over, but I definitely have a lot of great memories.
