Burst is a free photo/video-sharing app I tried after I won a giveaway they sponsored on the DadLabs show.
First of all, if you want to watch the DadLabs streaming show that includes news and views of fatherhood in particular and parenting in general, tune in to their Ustream page every Wednesday at 3pm EST. You will get to watch a great show, participate in the chat, and have the opportunity to win cool prizes too, every few weeks. If you can't watch at that time, the show will still be available on the Ustream page.
The Burst iPhone app (it's also available for Androids, whatever these things are) makes sharing photos and videos very easy. You import pictures or videos from your albums (or take new ones), then click Share. Now you can send the pictures/videos to as many individuals or groups you have already created, and that's it.
Easy sharing of pictures and videos is something that perhaps you'd think should already be included in your smartphone's operating system, and maybe one day forwarding multiple pics and videos to one or more recipients will be built into the operating system, but until that happens, Burst is a great way to share pictures from your phone (or from your iPad. Or even from the Burst website).
I didn't get anything for this review. No money, no goods, no fame--nothing. I know! But the makers of this app seem like nice people, and the app is really cool, so why not?

LOL...you crack me up....I have one of those "android" things. Your product endorsement made me laugh...."seem like nice people" I guess not all of us can be such "high-tech"dads. I do like photo app though so I will look at this one and see what it can do.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to go to "Dadlabs" forever and i can't ever seem to make it. I always seem to have such a full schedule of doing things I am lucky if I am not seeing myself coming and going....
Aaron
But I am high tech!!! I even have a couple of them i-Thingies! And maybe one day I'll have that new Kindle Fire, because if there's one thing that defines a high tech dad like me is buying stuff he doesn't really need just because it looks awesome.
DeleteUnfortunately, I won't be able to make it to DadLabs for a while because my boy's school schedule has changed, and now I'm on the road between 3 and 4. I hope you make it.
I think those "Androids" like mines does have similar photo sharing features. But, this looks much more user friendly. I'll have to try this out.
ReplyDeleteCool. I felt good writing this because I won something big from them AND I have a blog, so it's kind of my responsibility to write about them, even though it's not really. Youknow?
