A Dad Was Playing Online With His 2-Year-Old. Then, This Happened...

At first glance, it was kind of funny, I have to admit.

But it's more than that. I wouldn't say it's the fault of the kids' game site, because I remember how tough it was to block these ads in the past. The particular site the ad links to uses a hundred of different domains that forward to their main site, so every time I blocked a domain, the ad appeared under a different one...

The responsibility to block these ads, to make sure a site can't use multiple domains to avoid blocking, and to make sure ads like these never appear in anything but adult sites, belongs to Google. These are Adsense ads, and unless Google wants all parents to start using ad blocking extensions/add-ons, they need to step up.

  1. And really, of all the orgies, the Roman ones were the most dangerous. So, there's definitely better options.

    1. You haven't lived until you tried to Roman one.

  2. It's seriously impossible to block all the different ads. Even the best filters something can and often does get through. I do see the humor in it being linked with a kids ad but I certainly wouldn't want to be the parent that had to explain this to my child....yikes!

I agree that the google needs to step it up a notch to try and help prevent these things. I guess the only true prevention is to be there and monitor your child at all times or just don't let them have internet access at all...

    1. I mean, my kids will survive this ad, don't get me wrong, but Google does have a problem here. I'm not using an ad-block myself, but honestly, I'm one "Romney 2012" ad away from doing that...

  4. I use avantlink ads because of stuff like this. My mom kept calling my telling my the ads she was seeing. I don't change them as often as I should, but I can control what shows up.

    1. Thanks, I'll try it. It's a little tiring to learn new things, but I'll definitely check it out. Eventually.
