3D Frame Review and Giveaway

About a month ago I got a 3D frame to review. It looked really neat and the idea behind it was definitely a How-Come-I-Didn't-Think-About-It, but I just couldn't find the perfect item to put there.

It's basically a 4x6 frame that comes in many colors, only instead of glass enclosing a photo, you get an elastic film, so you can put small items there and then display your three-dimensional memories.

So I looked at it and wondered what to do...

I didn't want it to be a contrived memory just for this review. I wanted it to be really something I could look at every day. I wanted something that would make me happy or nostalgic or proud. I wanted to put the right thing there...

So, here's what I did:

On one side, I put this photo. It's actually a postcard I created using an app called Postcard on the Run. You take a picture with your iPhone and send it anywhere as a postcard. Yet another thing I should have invented... It's a great app that I will talk about in the future. Meanwhile, though, here's the postcard:

Now I can put something on the other side of the frame, and this time, I can use the frame's 3D ability. Continuing with the brother/sister theme, I got together the hospital bracelets for both of them (I knew there was a reason I kept them all this time):

And that's it. Here are the two sides of the frame, one a 2-dimensional picture, the other a 3D display of the bracelets:

And there's also a giveaway, which I hope you can help me promote. This is a very unique item to have in the house, and I hope to help one of you get it for free. If you want the frame, just leave a comment with some way of getting back to you (email, Twitter handle, or anything else that works for you), and I'll contact you in a week.

  5. You should also try the digital picture frame. It stores more photos but of course the effect is not 3D.

  6. Well why not? Throw my name in there too if it's not too late. :-) Is facebook good enough for the how to reach?

  9. Hey, thanks for all the comments.

Minuteman, thanks. I'm still not sure about it, though...

Allentown, for some reason every house I've been to that had a digital frame didn't use it. Not sure why.

  10. I love how a dad like you preserves those hospital tags. So cute and precious tags.

  11. Thanks. I go every once in a while on a We-Need-to-Empty-the-House-Because-We-Have-Too-Much-Stuff rampages, but that's something I'll never throw away.
