Atlas of My World

Atlas of My World

Well, I got an email giving me the opportunity to offer a 50% discount for the National Geographic Kids' Atlas of My World. I don't have a copy myself, but it does look fun. I'm a sucker for a nice atlas. My own dad filled our house with atlases, and I remember looking at pictures, reading charts, comparing facts, and of course, finding myself on the map. Although this stuff is now easy to do online, there is a certain romantic attachment to a real atlas, that you can't find on the Internet.

If you go to the site, you'll see your kid will be able to personalize a part of the atlas with a picture and with a few other details.

If this looks like something you might be interested in, use the code bf50gift to get 50% discount plus free shipping by December 1st.

The code changes after that, and from December 2nd to the 8th, use gift25bf to get the atlas with a %25 discount and free shipping.

(Who would have thought the plural of atlas is atlases? Sometimes things are simple after all.)

Just one more thing. National Geographic Kids asked me to put links to their Twitter and Facebook pages, and to encourage people to Follow and Like, so head over there too.

Chris

Who is Papa K
Who is Papa K?

Like many bloggers who are also fathers, Chris doesn't want to limit his writing to fatherhood, and his blog to daddy-blogging. He also doesn't want to limit his blog to writing about his religion, or about his love for baseball, or about his love for his wife's boobs.

I'm not being THAT weird, I swear. Just quoting from his sort-of ABOUT page...

I have not (and will not) limit myself or pigeon hole myself into writing about any ONE thing. I grow tired of “people” telling me I should come up with a theme for my blog i.e. I should write about baseball or fatherhood or religion or boobs or whatever. I like ALL these things… why not write about them all in the same place!

There's a lot of funny stuff to read on the blog, and a lot of serious stuff, but everything is honest and real. A lot of the writing is about his girl and about finding out what being a father means to him, but there's also plenty of room for the other stuff. And for Kim Kardashian.

Chris might think his writing is all over the place, but I really don't see it like that. I just connect the dots and find the whole person.

And of course, I should mention that after writing the magic word as a comment on his blog (the magic word was "Baltimore"), I won a set of Mr. Men books, which will keep my little girl fed for weeks.

Vote! Vote! Vote! (for this blog)

Think voting for your favorite former-witch was fun? Try voting for this blog! Now THAT'S fun.

The Baltimore Sun has collected some of the best blogs/Facebook pages/Twitter accounts in Maryland, and now you can tell them which one is your favorite. There are different categories, so you can vote for I-Don't-Care-What in the Sports category, and then you can vote for your favorite Maryland Health blog, and then, most importantly(!), vote for this blog every day. EVERY DAY.

I mean, you don't have to vote every day, but it'll make me happy if you do, so make your own decisions. You're the one who has to live with yourself for the rest of your life, knowing full well that another blog, an equally good or even better one, has won the award because you had better things to do.

Other than that, I just want to simply thank the Sun for including this blog, and for giving me and other blogs some small exposure.
