Worst Father Award

No matter how bad you think you're doing, you're not these guys. Not sure which one is worse:

1. The father who asks what's the best way to get rid of his children. To make sure we're not quick to judge, he adds:

Preemptive for all the haters, my kids just suck.

Worst Father Award

2. The father who leaves his 1-year-old in the car at 3am, while he goes to a strip club.

3. Whatever this is. It's been online for a while now, and this mystery hasn't been solved yet, as far as I know. (every time this video comes up on YouTube, it gets deleted. Not sure why. But it keeps coming back up through different accounts.)

THIS VIDEO MIGHT BE DISTURBING TO WATCH
WHETHER IT'S REAL OR NOT.

  1. I'd never seen that video before. I kept watching it hoping it was somehow fake, but finally had to turn it off after a minute or so. Just disgusting.

  2. I hadn't seen that video either. It doesn't look fake to me.

I remember a story out of Montreal where the police found a car illegally parked in the red light district with a kid sleeping inside. The father had gone out trolling for hookers.

  3. Yahoo answers in notorious at providing some absolute classics! Sometimes they are so worrying I hope there not real.

  4. Ugh! It ate my comment! Let's see, I called the video disturbing & hoped it was fake. And then I remembered that when I was a little kid, throwing babies up in the air used to be normal (I guess because it was before a lot of people really knew about shaken baby syndrome)

  5. Idaho Dad, I know what you mean. It's disturbing. I guess that's why it gets deleted from YouTube. But you can also see why it keeps coming back on different accounts.

SciFi Dad, you gotta go when you gotta go, I suppose...

John, replying to your comment, I was looking for this question, where a mother asks why her straight son has magazines with naked men. But then I also found this Q&A that actually made me spit my drink.

Jill, I saw a guy do some of these things once with his 2-year-old daughter. It was shocking, but everyone guaranteed it was safe. He was a boxer and the son of Russian acrobats, and supposedly he knew what he was doing. Still scary to watch, though.

  6. 23 seconds of that was all I could stomach.

  7. That guy on Yahoo seems to have missed the point of fatherhood, perhaps the kids should be taken away.

  8. I had seen the Yahoo! guy, and I'm not sure that was real. There are many fake questions there.

Now the video, based on what I read, I'm not even going to watch it. What for...

  9. A disturbing video indeed. It's hard to tell if it's a fake or not. Either way, some people just don't even deserve to be called parents (like the guys in your cases #1 & #2). Hard to tell which one of all these guys can be considered worst of them all.

  10. I had a hard time watching that. If it's real that guy needs to be seriously admonished for his douchbagerry.

  11. Judging from the comments, I think I should have added a warning above the video. Like you, I don't know if it is real. It's the internet, you know? Anything is possible. But as I wrote above, I did see a Russian father from a family of circus performers play roughly with his daughter. It was nothing like that, but it was shocking. And apparently, it was also safe.

So I would have been more comfortable if he had circus tents in the background rather than the set of the movie Hostel, and I would have been happy if two years after this video came out people had found out if it were real or not, but for now, I'll add the warning.

  12. Poor baby! That was shocking really. If that one's real, the baby could get the "baby shake syndrome". His brain will be affected and it could be a leading cause of death.

  13. uggh. Maybe there is a punch line at the end - I didn't make it that far.

  14. Jessica, I know. I don't know if it's real, but if it is, it's dangerous. I hope you don't think I condone this by putting it here (just as I don't condone leaving the child in the car while going to a strip club).

Christopher, you'll be happy to know that the video ends with a close up on a very happy baby. Still, that doesn't mean much. If it is real, the baby is not going to be aware of any brain damage.

  15. he does not deserve to be called a father

  16. I've seen that video before, but apparently not all the way through, holy crap.

The first dad is worse though. What a vile, characterless tool.

  17. Woah! Seriously?! These guys really need to come to their senses. I mean, they probably are not a bad person. They just need to realize that what they are doing is WRONG. Anyone agree with me?

  18. The father in Yahoo needs some serious help. He's too desperate to get his freedom back, and he even had the guts to call himself cool, God!!!

  19. I just seen the video not fully, I was not able to watch the full video. It is really disturbing video. We never want these kind of fathers.

  20. Seriously?! they call themselves father? They should think about it. It's not enough to have kids to be called as father, it's how you play the role well.

How can a father forget his child in the car and go off.Such fathers should be arrested.

  22. Wow people can be that irresponsible? That letter on #1 is that really true? How could someone call him a great guy and be like that to his kids? That to me is the worst guy.

  23. I'm sorry, I don't understand why everyone is pissed off about the baby.

The baby looks happy, so what's the matter?

The greatest risk from doing that is the possibility of dislocating the shoulder. Which, if it happened, would not be the end of the world. You have to remember that babies are lighter than adult humans; force is proportionate to mass, so the force on the baby is a lot less than it would have been on you or I.

  24. Wow ... and here I thought watching out for things on Yahoo! Answers was a waste of time. And I only made it 65 seconds into that video. My stomach was turning over watching that.

  25. I hope this video is 100% fake. This is the height of irresponsibility.
